Airtel Black: Plans, pricing, advantages, and features

Last week, Airtel had launched a new postpaid service called Black. “Black” is a modified version of the telecom operator’s “One” service wherein customers can subscribe to a combination of one of these 3 Airtel services – Fiber, DTH, and Postpaid. One of the things in your combination should be the “Postpaid” connection.

In case you are not aware, the telecom operator had introduced the “Airtel One” service a few years back. “One” wasn’t heavily marketed when it was introduced and it was available only in select cities. “Black” is available throughout the country. Also, the firm has started marketing its new service via television ads. Below, we’ve covered the benefits, advantages, and pricing of the new Airtel Black plans.

Airtel Black benefits and features

1 bill: People who have got a working SIM, DTH, and broadband connection from three different companies pay the bill three times. The subscribers of the “Black” plan will have to pay only a single bill instead of three separate ones.

60-second call pickup: Sometimes, you may notice a drop in the internet connection speed, or the mobile data speed won’t be up to the mark. If you dial the company’s customer care number and all customer support executives are busy, you may have to wait for several minutes to post a complaint. The phone calls of the subscribers of one of the “Black” plans will be picked up within 60 seconds. The person who picks up your call will answer your queries related to DTH, fiber, postpaid connection. He/she will not ask you to dial some other number.

Free service visits: Some firms charge customers for servicing the connection. Airtel will not charge its customers if they book service visits.

Free XStream box: When you buy a DTH connection, you’ll have to pay money for the set-top box. This is not the case with Airtel because the telecom operator will provide an Airtel Xstream box free of cost to the users. You can learn more about this box in our Airtel Xstream vs Tata Sky article.

Priority resolution: If you raise a complaint, your issue will be addressed quickly by the company’s specialists.

Pay later: If you buy anything from an Airtel store nearby you, you don’t have to immediately pay the product’s bill. You can ask the support executive to merge the Store bill with your Airtel Black bill.

Zero installation cost: Local internet service providers may charge extra bucks for installing a broadband connection at your place. “Black” plan subscribers won’t have to pay installation charges.

The 4 Airtel Black plans

The telecom operator is currently offering the following 4 plans under its new service.

2099: This is the most expensive “Black” plan. Users will get 3 postpaid SIM cards, an Airtel fiber high-speed broadband connection, and a DTH connection.

1598: You will get a fiber broadband connection and 2 postpaid SIM cards if you subscribe to the Rs 1598 plan.

1349: Airtel provides 3 postpaid SIM cards and a DTH connection to the users who subscribe to the Rs 1349 plan.

998: This plan offers 2 postpaid connections and a single DTH connection. You won’t get an Airtel broadband connection if you go for this pack.

Like postpaid plans, you’ll be charged GST on your monthly bill. So, you will have to pay the bill along with GST.

Will the new Airtel service cut down your monthly DTH, postpaid, and internet bill? Yes, imagine you have purchased an expensive unlimited broadband plan and a DTH connection. You recharge your DTH account with Rs 500 every month, pay 700 Rs per month for the unlimited broadband plan, and recharge your and your wife’s or dad’s phone with Rs 251 pack every month. The total money you spend on these three services is 500 + 700 + 502 i.e. 1702. If you buy the 3d cheapest Airtel Black plan, you will save around 200 Rs every month.

You can also purchase an Airtel Black plan if you are a postpaid user of JIO, Vi, or Airtel and have a DTH connection at home. The postpaid plans of Airtel, JIO, and Vi start at 399 Rs (Jio offers a 1999 plan but this plan offers just 25GB data). If you pay a bill of two postpaid connections and also recharge your DTH account with a minimum of 400 Rs, you might save some money if you purchase the 998 Rs plan.
