Airtel XStream vs Jio Fiber

Airtel and Jio are India’s top 2 broadband service providers. A few years back, Airtel broadband plans were costlier compared to broadband plans offered by local firms. Also, unlike local companies that offered unlimited data, Airtel bundled 40 to 100GB of data with its plans. When JIO 4G service was introduced, Airtel reduced the tariff substantially. It also removed the FUP limit on its plans. When Jio Fiber was introduced in 2019, Airtel introduced a new FTTH broadband service called XStream. Is JioFiber better than XStream or vice versa? Below, we’ve compared the JioFiber and Airtel XStream broadband plans:

Airtel XStream Fiber plans

In 2019, Jio installed JioFiber at user’s apartments or houses and allowed users to use the JioFiber service free of cost for a limited time. This offer was known as the “Jio Fiber Preview Offer”. Reliance Group has scrapped the preview offer but it allows users to try the JioFiber service for a month.

As of now, Jio is the only company that is selling its high-speed broadband plans on an EMI. The company also bundles free subscriptions to Netflix, Amazon Prime, ZEE5, ALT Balaji, etc with its plans. Airtel has partnered with Amazon and ZEE media only.
